Somewhere Over The Rainbow: The Musical Comes To An End

With the musical over, actors and crew members have the whole rest of the year to relax and unwind. They showcased their talents on stage, but now it is time to take a break.

On Saturday, March 8, 2014, the final performance day for The Wizard of Oz, the actors along with crew members cherished their last day together as performers. To help lighten the mood, a spoof video was made to poke fun at some of the instructors and reiterate the inside jokes made during the course of the show. This reminded everyone of the good times and helped establish the memories that they had made.

Before the matinée on Saturday, many tears were shed. Some were for the seniors who would not be with musical next year, and some tears were just out of sadness and loneliness that they will experience during the off months.

Musical kids are so supportive and always eager to help and excel in their task no matter what it may be. Actors strive to be their very best and following the strict directions of their instructors. Crews do their jobs by making sure everything runs smoothly on stage by making sure everything is ready off stage. Everyone works together as one whole group. Without one single group, the whole musical would fall apart.

The hard-work of the students finally paid off. Audience members praised the cast and crew for their perseverance and amazing show quality. The audience helped raise thousands of dollars to go towards the school and even came to see the show numerous times. People could just not get enough of the Merry Old Land of Oz.

Being is musical is like having another family; there’s drama and fighting, but there is also that unbreakable bond and unconditional love for one another. This bond will never be broken, even years after graduating. Once a musical kid, always a musical kid.
