Seneca Valley is Having a Great Hockey Season
On Friday December 6, 2013, the Seneca Valley Jr. Varsity Ice hockey team faced North Allegheny, suffering a disappointing loss with the final score 2-1.
So far this hockey season has been very successful; the JV team currently holds a record of 5-1-1.
The game on Friday was a very close game. NA scored the first goal, then a second time with ten minutes left in the game. With eight minutes left in the game, Tyler Leak scored the only goal for Seneca.
Both JV and Varsity teams are doing exceptionally well this year, and both Varsity and JV are 2013 St. Margaret’s Tourney champs.
Nate Kouns, a player on the JV Seneca Valley ice hockey team, said, “I think we have a very good chance of going far this season. We have terrific players and a very dedicated team.”
Alex Crilley, another player on the Seneca Valley Varsity Ice hockey team, was asked if he feels the team can improve and do better this season. He replied, “I think we have some really good players and I believe that if we dedicate a little more we could go to the championship.”
The varsity team so far this year has a record of 5-3. The last varsity game was Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Seneca Valley played Pine Richland, beating them with the score of 4- 3.
