Justin Timberlake, a well-known singer, songwriter, and actor across the globe, has been selected to sing at the 2018 Superbowl. 

Early Life and Career 

Justin Randall Timberlake was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 31, 1981 to parents Lynn and Randall Timberlake. The Timberlakes parents divorced in 1985. Both of his parents are remarried. Timberlake has two half-brothers on his father’s side. He had a half-sister on his father’s side, but she died shortly after birth. Her death was his inspiration for the *NSYNC song “My Angel in Heaven.” His singing career started when he sang at the Grand Ole Opry when he was ten years old. When Timberlake was 14, the boy band *NSYNC was formed, and lasted for seven years .The name for the band came from the last letters of each of the original band member’s first name. *NSYNC earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017. The band had hit songs such as” Its Gonna Be Me”, “Bye Bye Bye”, and “This I Promise You.” The band broke up in 2002, after a very successful career of selling out albums and becoming a band that would shape the future of boy bands. 

Solo Career 

After the boy band *NSYNC broke up, Justin Timberlake started up his solo career in the beginning of 2002. Justin spent his time working on writing his songs for the album he would release later called “Justified.” The album reached the top of both US and UK music charts and, by February of 2003, had gone double platinum.  The album won him his first Grammy in the “Best Pop Vocal Album” category. Some of his hit songs, such as “SexyBack”, “Cry Me a River”, and “Rock Your Body” hit top charts and helped skyrocket his career. In 2002 he was named The Most Eligible Bachelor in America. Since then, Timberlake has released 13 hit albums, won 165 total awards, and even branched out into an acting career. He has acted in the popular movies such as “Friends with Benefits”, with fellow star Mila Kunis, “Runner”, and popular children’s movie “Trolls” with fellow artist Anna Kendrick. Timberlake’s hit song ” Can’t Stop the Feeling!” was featured in the movie, and it hit the top of the music charts in 2016. Timberlake has become an icon in the music industry.  Timberlake has also become famous for his skits with his close friend Jimmy Fallon on shows “Saturday Night Live” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” 

Family Life 

Timberlake is married to actress Jessica Biel and has one son named Silas Randall Timberlake, who is two years old. Timberlake and Biel were in an on and off relationship from 2007-2012, when they finally wed in October of 2012 in Italy.  His family lives in New York City, New York. He owns six Harley Davidsons and thre Mercedes-Benz. Timberlake has founded the Justin Timberlake Foundation, which focuses on promoting musical education as a critical part of a child’s development.
