Seneca Valley Varsity Hockey Team Ends the Season

On March 2, 2013, the Seneca Valley Varsity Hockey team played their first play off game against Cannon Mac, with the Raiders coming out on top with the final score of  6-1.

At South Pointe, the Varsity Hockey team took on their first play off game with a fantastic win. They were so excited and couldn’t wait to play their second play off game March 6, at South Point against Peters.

To there disappointment they lost of a finial score of 4-1. The only goal was scored by Senior Chris Marziotto.

When the players were asked about there feelings on the season ending, Alex Crilley said, “I’m so thankful for all the seniors on this team, a handful of brothers that I will always look up to. I hope they all enjoy college and go on and succeed in life.”

Chris Marziotto also commented and said, “I’m so proud of my team! To all my teammates, I love all of you guys, you’re like a family to me…thanks for the support once again from everyone!”

The Seneca Valley Varsity team had a great year and although they only held a 1-1-0 play off ranking, they won many sectional games this year. The saddest part about the end of the season is saying goodbye to all the Seniors. I got a chance to ask Parker Faix a junior on the Seneca Valley Varsity hockey team how he felt about saying goodbye to all the seniors on his team: “They may have no flow, but they sure made this season great. Gotta love the seniors, I’ll miss this season a lot!”

There are many teams still left in the PIHL; Bethal Park is highest ranked with a record so far of 4-0-0. The PIHL final game will be played at the Console Energy Center in downtown Pittsburgh.
