Penguins 3-peat possible?
There has been a lot of buzz about the Pittsburg Penguins this playoff season. Their first round of games against the Philadelphia Flyers has been one for the record books. After beating the flyers in three of their four games the Pens have scored 18 goals. This is not a regular occurrence for the regular season, let alone the playoffs.
In game on the Pens came out on top with a 7-0 win, a pretty good way to start off playoffs. This game was fast passed and exciting. Specifically Sidney Crosby had a great game with a hat trick, as well as Matt Murray with breathtaking saves and a shutout. Game two was less exciting for the team as the Flyers came hard and won with a score of 5-1. That being said the score was matched by the Penguins in game three resulting in 5-1 in favor of the Pens. Finally the most recently played game, game four was taken by Pittsburg with a final score of 5-0.
The question still remains, is it enough? I believe, as well as many Pittsburghers that the Penguins play a very physiological game of hockey. What I mean by this is that when we are on a losing streak we are more likely to continue on it rather than pull out. At the same time if they are on a hot streak, it’s likely that will continue. There is still one more game left to be played against Philly, however looking at the previous games I think the odds are in the Pens favor. The victory of round one will carry over to the following rounds helping us play hard and take the cup for a third year.
